What is the language of Zhuang nationality?
Scholars classify it as a Zhuang-Dai branch of the Zhuang-Dong language family of Sino-Tibetan language family, which is mainly divided into two dialects: North and South. Some foreign scholars classify Zhuang language into the Austrian-Thai language family according to cognates. Zhuang language is very similar to Thai, Lao and Dai. Zhuang language has its own characteristics. It once created "vernacular Chinese" on the basis of Chinese characters, which has been used by the people since the Tang Dynasty (7th century) in China. Han people call them ancient Zhuang characters, while Zhuang people call them "sawndip", which means new characters, because these characters are composed of Chinese radicals. But this Zhuang language is not widely used, so it is not used as a whole.
