Why did Qin Shihuang cruise around after unifying the six countries?

Qin Shihuang's tours were different from those of later generations, such as Yang Di and Qianlong.

First, the western tour and the northern tour are intended to deter the northwest Rong people and the northern Xiongnu people.

Qin Shihuang's first tour was to visit Longxi County and Beidi County in the northwest, which was a nomadic area in Xirong, near the heart of the Qin Dynasty. Historically, the State of Qin had been in diplomatic relations with foreign songs in the northwest for many years, and Qin Shihuang's voyage to the West was also to deter Xirong and stabilize the rear.

Qin Shihuang's fourth patrol was a long-distance patrol. When he came back, he made a detour to Shang Jun in Beiyun, where the Huns had always been an important threat to the northern border. After returning to the capital, he ordered Meng Tian to send 300,000 troops to expel the Huns, seize the Yinshan Hetao area, and build the Great Wall to consolidate the fruits of victory. It can be seen that his patrol this time is still to shock foreigners, publicize national prestige and warn Daqin that it is inviolable.

Second, traveling eastward and southward is intended to deter the remnants of the six countries.

Shortly after the first patrol, Qin Shihuang began his second patrol. This trip, first go to Qi, carve stones to praise Germany, and worship Mount Tai. Later, he crossed the Huaihe River to the State of Chu.

Qin Shihuang's third tour was similar to the second. He traveled to Qi first, but when he came back, he bypassed Zhao and was almost assassinated.

He has traveled to Qi, Chu and Zhao many times. There is no doubt that he is worried about the remaining rebels in the six countries and wants to deter them. When Zhao Di was almost assassinated by Zhang Liangpai's assassins, he made the world spend ten days catching the rebels and hitting their strength. At the same time, through stone carving and meditation, it is in line with heaven to declare that Qin destroyed the six countries, showing the power of Daqin.

Third, the pursuit of longevity

Qin Shihuang's second, third and fifth excursions were all near the East China Sea. According to historical records, Qin Shihuang intended to "seek fairy medicine". After the second patrol, Xu Fu was sent to lead thousands of boys and girls across the sea to seek immortality in the mountains.

We don't know whether Qin Shihuang really had this purpose. Even if it is recorded in the history books, it doesn't rule out that he deliberately played up his pursuit of immortality in order to discredit himself.

Even if he really has the purpose of seeking an elixir, combined with his five outings, this purpose is only one factor of his outing, not the main factor.

In a short period of eleven years, Qin Shihuang made five tours and died on the fifth tour. In order to maintain the rare situation of world unification, Qin Shihuang took great pains.
