Disciplinary Development of the Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Ethnic Minorities of Central University for Nationalities (CUNAM)

Since its establishment, the Institute of Traditional Medicine for Ethnic Minorities of China has been supported by the second phase of the 985 Project, the 10th Five-Year Plan and the 211 Project of Central University for Nationalities. Since its establishment, the Institute has been supported by the "985 Project", "10th Five-Year Plan" and "211 Project" of the Central University for Nationalities to strengthen scientific research, cultivate high-level talents and academic exchanges, improve the support system for the development of the discipline of ethnomedicine, promote the social transformation of scientific research results, and strive to contribute to the development of the health of ethnic minorities and the cause of traditional medicine.

Over the past few years, the discipline of traditional ethnic medicine has developed rapidly. It has formed an innovative team with high innovation ability, openness and cross-disciplinary characteristics, established a perfect talent training mechanism, scientific project management system and operation mechanism, constructed a theoretical system of ethnic minority medicine with Chinese characteristics, and continuously improved the construction level of ethnic minority medicine and other disciplines.

Currently, the institute is a key laboratory of innovative drugs and modernization of ethnic medicines under the State People's Committee and the Ministry of Education of China, and Chinese minority medicine and culture has been listed as one of the key disciplines of Beijing Municipality. In 2008, Traditional Medicine of Chinese Ethnic Minorities was included in the "211 Project" of the Central University for Nationalities, and it is mainly engaged in the research of traditional medicine of ethnic minorities, pharmacology of ethnic minorities, and public health of ethnic minorities. At the same time, the Institute is actively carrying out the declaration of the State Key Laboratory of Traditional Medicine of Ethnic Minorities in China.
