This respect comes from primary school, but now children don't teach you, parents don't teach you, adults at home don't teach you, and school teachers don't teach you. Your natural virtue is buried. So the sage classics are here. Now, you can't get in. There is something wrong with the method of educating children now. A person's life is different in age and ability. He had the strongest memory before he was twelve years old, which was known by the ancients in China. At the age of thirteen to twenty, when wisdom has been opened, we should explain it to him and discuss it with him.

So before the age of twelve, he only read, recited and didn't speak, which was in line with Buddhist standards. The foundation laid for him before he was twelve years old was fundamental wisdom. What is the ultimate wisdom? The fundamental wisdom is fixed, and children should calm down and not think about it. If you were asked to endorse, you wouldn't think about it. Recite what you should recite every day. Adults call, come and recite a paragraph for me. What is that? Practice meditation, practice meditation by endorsement. Therefore, children are as clever as adults. By the age of twelve, they have almost all the things they should recite. These methods are documented in five legacy rules. Chen Hongmou was also a scholar in Qing Dynasty, and he had a deep research on primary schools. Children have to learn. They laid a good foundation when they were young. When they are old, it will be easy and convenient to learn. If they are really willing to learn, there is nothing they can't do.

Why? Memory slowly declines. When you are 50 or 60 years old, you often can't remember. When you reach the age of 70 or 80, you just forget what you just thought. Therefore, memory will slowly decline, and it will decline with age. It is best to be before the age of twenty, which is the golden age of learning.

Therefore, I can have two years to recite 50 ancient texts seriously and lay a good foundation for classical Chinese. What is this thing? The key, the key of Siku Quanshu, you got the key of Sanzang. Without this key, the Tripitaka provided by your family can't get in and it's useless. The family's Siku Quanshu is useless, and you have no ability to use it. You see how important this foundation is! If a parent has this wisdom, he knows this and teaches his children to recite. We were wrong. Our parents didn't teach us seriously. Now we understand that we should teach the next generation and hope that the next generation will surpass me. After three or four generations, our traditional culture can be revived.

Traditional culture has no choice in our generation, and the next generation is also very difficult and hard, at least after the third generation. We have this heart, know this, know this, and correct past mistakes and strive to cultivate children. Find a place with a good environment to teach, away from the city, and find a place with beautiful mountains and rivers. The ancients said that outstanding people are outstanding, and he has no pollution and is not affected by the external environment. He is calm and at ease. Take him well and cultivate him, and the effect will always take two or three generations to see. China's traditional culture has been lost for at least five generations, and it will take another five generations to revive it. It is impossible to say that it can be revived in our generation, absolutely impossible. So wisdom is more important than anything else. Today, we wholeheartedly help the next generation, yes.
