From which dynasty did Chinese medicine become popular?
Legends such as "Fu tasted a hundred herbs as nine needles", "Shen Nong tasted a hundred herbs" and "Yi Yin as soup" reflect the origin of China ancestors' understanding and use of drugs. After countless attempts and accumulated experience from generation to generation, I gradually gained the knowledge of distinguishing food, drugs and poisons, and consciously applied it. With people's more production and medical practice, more and more plants, animals and minerals with medicinal value have been gradually discovered, and drug knowledge has been accumulated and developed.
Early record of drug knowledge. Medicine, Shuo Wen Jie Zi, is interpreted as "the grass for curing diseases", and it is clearly pointed out that "medicine" is the thing for curing diseases. With the appearance and application of words, people began to record drug knowledge in words. At present, the earliest known word "medicine" comes from the ancient bronze inscriptions in Zhong Ding thousands of years ago. Since the Western Zhou Dynasty, Chinese characters have increased. For example, there is a saying in Jing that "medicine faints and sickness faints"; "Book of Changes" has "no disease, no medicine and joy; An innocent medicine cannot be tried "; There is a saying in the Book of Rites Quli that "doctors can't live for three generations without taking their medicine".
The wide application of the term Chinese medicine is directly related to the import of foreign drugs, especially western medicine. The foreign drugs introduced in the early days had little influence on the traditional pharmacy in China, and were soon included in the compendium of materia medica of past dynasties, which endowed the theoretical system of traditional Chinese medicine with unique connotation and enriched and developed the traditional pharmacy in China. For example, the newly revised Materia Medica contains at least 27 kinds of medicinal materials that are not produced in China; Most of the drug producing areas included in Haiyao Materia Medica are foreign place names.
