How traditional architectural culture reappears in modern architecture

The traditional Jiangnan residential community itself is formed in the process of natural growth and constant renewal. In this process, the traditional community environment reflects the local customs. In the long river of history, the social organization, life style and economic system of traditional communities are constantly changing, and the traditional community environment is the product of gradual development and constant revision under the change of social life. The architectural communities in the water towns in the south of the Yangtze River are characterized by random and refined architectural layout, light and concise modeling and elegant and pleasant colors. Alleys and streets vary in width among buildings, and the buildings are small in size and high in density. Alleys and streets have a large open space at the corner as a place for people to communicate and distribute. The village community in the south of the Yangtze River, because of the close combination of land production and life, determines the village's personal < P > nature. It is not pure nature, but a kind of "human nature", and there is a spiritual dialogue and communication between man and nature, which embodies the ecological realm of "harmony between man and nature".

inspired by the traditional architectural communities in the south of the Yangtze River, in the design of Jiashan Cultural and Art Center, we hope to design a building complex with scattered layout, which provides various possibilities and flexibility between landscape and architecture. Therefore, from the beginning, we abandoned the design of focusing on large quantities. However, we have been studying how to make the building smaller and more intimate, and the space between buildings is rich and suitable for the Jiangnan temperament.
