The poem "Lime Yin" captures the characteristics of lime, praises its spirit, and expresses the author's aspirations.

Yu Qian (1398-1457), a native of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, was a famous poet, statesman and militarist in the Ming Dynasty. This seven-character stanza was written in the 13th year of the Yongle reign of Emperor Chengzu of the Ming Dynasty (1415), when Yu Qian was only seventeen years old.

The general idea of the poem is that the stone extracted from the mountain after thousands of hammers and ten thousand chisels is not afraid of being burned by the fire; as long as one can leave one's innocence in the world, one is not afraid of being torn to pieces. On the surface, it seems that this seven ji is only aria, that is, the poet used the technique of white description, highlighting the lime is not afraid of striking, not afraid of the fire, willing to break their bones and white powder to the people's characteristics. However, a closer look, but it is not difficult to see the poet's ingenuity - aria, in fact, for speech. That is, the use of anthropomorphism and metaphors and other techniques, through the mouth of the lime, a double entendre, to express their own fear of hardship and danger, not afraid of sacrifice, in the life of the road always clean and honest people's noble sentiments.

Yu Qian for the official integrity, has vindicated the wrongful imprisonment, disaster relief, loved by the people. When Emperor Yingzong of the Ming Dynasty, Emperor Yingzong was captured during the invasion of Wala. Yu Qian, the King Emperor, personally led the troops to defend Beijing, repelled the Verrat, so that the people from the Mongolian aristocrats again barbaric rule. However, after the restoration of Emperor Yingzong, he falsely killed this national hero for the crime of "treason". This "Lime Yin" can be said to be a true reflection of Yu Qian's life and personality.
