According to the old custom, the Jade Emperor himself went down to the underworld on the 25th day of the twelfth lunar month to investigate the good and evil in the world and decide the fortune for the coming year. Therefore, every household presents blessings by animation, which is called "receiving the Jade Emperor". On this day, people should be cautious in daily life and speech, strive for good performance, win the favor of the Jade Emperor and bring good luck for the coming year.
Step 2 make tofu
Today, some places still have the custom of "eating tofu residue" before New Year's Eve. The reason lies in the legend that the Jade Emperor will visit the lower world to see if every household is acting like the Kitchen God, so every household will "eat tofu dregs" to show their poverty and avoid the punishment of the Jade Emperor.
3. According to the silkworm farm
Jiangnan people also call the 25th day of the twelfth lunar month "burning field silkworms", "lighting field silkworms" and "burning field wealth". People stand in the fields with torches tied to long poles, and use flames to herald the new year, and the vigorous flames herald the bumper harvest in the coming year. But in some places, this activity will not be held until the age of 30.

According to the old folk custom in China, the Kitchen God was sent to New Year's Eve on the 23rd of the twelfth lunar month. 5. Thousand Lights Festival
The 25th day of the twelfth lunar month is a religious festival for Mongolians and Daur people. Mongolian is called "Ganming Zhuola", which means Thousand Lantern Festival.
