Briefly

Indiana Jones, a professor of archaeology at a university, is approached one day by the U.S. military, who have deciphered a German telegram about the "Ark of the Law," a device used to contain God's gifts. "The "Ark of the Law" was used to contain the original tablets of the Ten Commandments given by God to the Jews. The U.S. military sent Jones to Cairo to strike first, and he used his only measuring tool, a brass cap with a red crystal, to locate the Ark of the Law with Maroun. - Plot hole: Egypt was under British rule in 1936, and the Germans could not have mounted a large-scale military operation as they do in the movie.

- Coherence: after Indy is besieged in Well of Souls, Bellocchi's hat jumps from his head to the ground.

-FACTUAL ERROR: The snakes inside Well of the Souls come from all different parts of the world.
