History of Maijiahe River in Baiyun District
It has a long history. According to historical records, as early as the Tang Dynasty, villages and irrigation systems had been established in Maijiahe area of Baiyun District. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it gradually became a prosperous gathering place for agriculture, handicrafts and commerce, with rich historical and cultural relics. Baiyun District is located in the north-central part of Guangzhou, bordering Zengcheng District, Huangpu District and Tianhe District in the east, Nanhai District of Foshan City in the west, Huadu District and Conghua District in the north and Liwan District, Yuexiu District and Tianhe District in the south.
