What is the gift? It is the governance of things. A gentleman will do something when he is in trouble. Governing the country is rude, just like a blind man without help and nowhere to go.

Confucius compared etiquette to a guide on the road and to a light that guides the direction in the dark. The place where the legal system is perfect and the etiquette is respected is the place where there are few crimes; On the contrary, laws are not obeyed, law enforcement is lax, and etiquette and the dignity of the law are ignored. Where the law is in name only, there are more crimes.
