Where is Gubeikou?

Gubeikou Town belongs to Miyun District of Beijing, located in the northeast of Miyun District.

In the first year of Qing Qianlong (1736), Emperor Qianlong passed Gubeikou on his way to Jehol, marveling at the beautiful scenery inside and outside the Great Wall, and asked Liu Yong what his name was. Liu Yong truthfully replied: "It was called Beikou in the Spring and Autumn Period, Chuxia in the Northern Wei Dynasty, and Hukou in the Tang Dynasty." Because the word "Guguan" was found on the city brick of the south door lintel, and the word "Beikou" was found on the city brick of the north door lintel. Emperor Qianlong changed this place to "Gubeikou", which has been passed down to this day.

Gubeikou Town is located in the northeast of Beijing, 55 kilometers away from Miyun City, bordering Xinchengzi Township in the east, Taishitun Town in the south, Gaoling Town in the west and Luanping County in Hebei Province in the north. Gubeikou Town has four neighborhood committees and nine administrative villages.
