Shangtang Village is located in the northeastern part of Yangzhong Township, with an elevation of 485 meters above sea level, a semi-alpine valley, above the attempted road of Beijing-Fuzhou high-speed highway, east of the junction with Nanping, Gutian and Minqing, south of the border with Tiantian Village, west of the cultural village Guifeng, north of the village of Pingkeng. There are 147 households and 561 people in the village, including 260 women and 301 men. The village has 3 natural villages and 5 villagers' groups under its jurisdiction. The village has a land area of 17,298 acres, arable land area of 1,283 acres, forest land area of 14,223 acres, including 13,459 acres of forested land, with a forest coverage rate of 80%.

Shangtang village has convenient transportation, Fuyin Expressway runs through the territory of our village, only 20 kilometers away from the interchange, 200 kilometers away from Changle Airport, more than 100 kilometers away from Sanming Airport, and 8 kilometers away from National Highway 316, which makes the transportation very convenient in all directions.

Shangtang Village is rich in mountain products, with 14,223 acres of live standing wood mountain farms, moso bamboo, small diameter bamboo, wild medicinal herbs, etc., as well as natural mineral springs and pollution-free green food.

Shangtang Village has 1,283 acres of fertile farmland, nearly 1,000 acres of small diameter bamboo, moso bamboo, there is a wealth of labor resources, the annual labor export of about 200 people, only this income amounted to more than 2 million yuan. The village makes full use of the advantages of mountainous areas, vigorously develop the oil tea industry, the existing oil tea area of 307 acres, the output value of more than 200,000 yuan, private afforestation of more than 2,000 acres. At the same time, vigorously develop the breeding industry, pig farming as the mainstay of a variety of breeding modes to increase farmers' income.

Shangtang village has 12 kilometers of spacious cement highway around the village, every household telephone, installed cable closed-circuit television, drinking natural shallow well water, civilized, clean village.

In 2008, the village realized 13.04 million yuan of gross social output value, financial income of 140,000 yuan, industrial and agricultural output value of 10.48 million yuan, an increase of 12.36%, of which 1.33 million yuan of industrial output value, agricultural output value of 9.15 million yuan, an increase of 11.02%, the per capita income of farmers 4,737 yuan.

Shangtang Village is adjacent to Pingkeng Village, Tiantang Village, Fuyang Village, Inter-Shen Village, Inter-Kou Village, Guanyang Village, Meifeng Village, Wangzhao Village, Yangzhong Village, Shuizhen Village, Yangbian Village, Lianyang Village, Longyang Village, and Kanglin Village.

On June 6, 2019, Shangtang Village was listed in the fifth batch of Chinese traditional villages.

On August 31, 2017, the second batch of provincial traditional villages list in Fujian Province was announced, and Shangtang Village was listed among them.

Shangtang Village is near tourist attractions such as Guifeng Cai's Residence, Zhuzi Cultural Park, Guifeng Ancient Village, Chivalrous World Tourist Area, Guxi Star River Scenic Spot, and specialties such as Yuxi Golden Citrus, Yuxi Green Bamboo Shoots, Yuxi Green Tea, Yuxi Red, and Yuxi Tea Seed Oil.
