What's the difference between European civilization and China civilization?

First, compare the influence scope of ancient western civilization and Chinese civilization.

Note: At that time, the northern part of Eurasia was almost no man's land and there was no civilization.

Looking at the map, the influence of the Central Plains Dynasty was about four times greater than that of Rome, and the population of China was four or five times more than that of Rome. At the same time, the Han dynasty established a centralized country, and the central court directly managed the county level. The population of ancient counties was very small. The development of civilization in Han Dynasty was much higher than that in Rome.

The Roman Empire's management of places was similar to that of China's toast system, and it was not centralized.

Second, compare the latitudes of China and Europe.

Please pay attention to the area passing through 40 degrees north latitude in the above two pictures. The two pictures drawn together are:

40 degrees north latitude passes through the Spanish, Italian and northern Greek in Europe, and is basically in line with the Great Wall of China. Harbin and Venice are basically at the same latitude.

50 degrees north latitude passes through southern England, northern Germany, Poland and Burroughs, and is at the same latitude as Mohe in the northeast of China.

The Great Wall is the dividing line between farming area and nomadic area, which coincides with the 400 mm isoprecipitation line. The population north of the ancient Great Wall is very small. Mohe is the northernmost area in China, with the coldest winter in ancient times and few people.

Due to the high latitude in Europe, in ancient Rome, only the Mediterranean coast was suitable for human survival and development. However, it produces very little food and feeds very few people. Compared with contemporary China, the gap is at least five times.

The Mediterranean coast is small, with few mountains. Can it compare with the agricultural production in North China Plain, Weihe Plain and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River?

In a word, only the Mediterranean region in ancient Europe was suitable for human survival and could produce advanced civilization. Temperate maritime climate areas were not suitable for human survival in ancient times, because only pasture could be planted, which was not suitable for food production. Scandinavia and eastern Europe are even less suitable for human survival.

Third, the era of Chinese civilization and western civilization.

Chinese civilization reached a period of high civilization in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. By the Han Dynasty, Chinese civilization had basically taken shape.

Politically, it is a centralized system plus county system, and economically, it is a small-scale peasant economy. Culturally, the written language has already matured, and there are countless literary works.

The number of participants and logistics personnel in the battle of Changping were more than those in the Napoleonic Wars. It was only in the16th century that the west almost reached the development level of China at the end of the Warring States Period.

Westerners like to trace history back to ancient Greece. The royal family, similar to Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties, traced back to Yan Di and the Yellow Emperor, with too many illusory elements. This is typical of treating legends as history.

Shakespeare (1564- 16 16) is the first famous writer in English history.

15 17 Martin Luther published the ninety-five theses, which is the first time that Germans have translated the Bible into German.

The history of Europe began with the Renaissance in 14 to 16 century, and the Renaissance began with the Italian city-state on the Mediterranean coast and gradually spread to other parts of Europe. It was at this time that European civilization (Western civilization) began to take shape.

Later, after the religious reform, the geographical discovery and the colonization, European powers completed the construction of political, economic and cultural systems by relying on the wealth accumulated by colonial plunder, and finally formed European civilization.

Europe is a natural modern civilization. By absorbing the cultural achievements of other civilizations, we can quickly transition to modernity. It is the same as Japan's rapid transition to feudal times after learning the Tang Dynasty.

The period from 15 to 19 was the fastest developing period in Europe, and it was also the period when European civilization was finally finalized.

Fourth, the earlier the invention, the more important it is and the greater it is.

We should understand the simplest basic truth: the inventions of early humans are more important and greater than those of modern humans. The earlier the invention, the greater the difficulty.

Humans originated 2 million years ago, 99% of which belong to the Paleolithic Age. Our ancestors learned to use stone tools and natural fire, which is the greatest invention of mankind.

It may take tens of thousands of years for Paleolithic people to invent and improve a stone tool. But you can never say that primitive people's improvement of a stone tool is not as important as Apple's mobile phone.

The Neolithic Age is about ten thousand years old. Humans can grind out more stone tools, invent methods of drilling wood for fire and making pottery, and agriculture and animal husbandry came into being.

Then mankind entered the bronze age and the iron age. The ancestors of China people invented sericulture, porcelain making, writing and the "Four Great Inventions".

In fact, westerners inherit very little culture and technology from their ancestors, and most of their cultures are learned from West Asia, North Africa and East Asia. Among them, China is the commanding height of the whole Eurasia civilization. The ancient Greece praised by Europeans is just a cover.

Summary: In ancient times, the territory and population of Chinese civilization far exceeded other civilizations in Eurasia, accounting for more than half of Eurasia. A large number of unearthed cultural relics prove that China people invented and created more things in ancient times than other civilizations combined. The contribution to mankind is self-evident. Most parts of ancient Europe were not suitable for human survival. The level of civilization is very low. It is much worse than the civilization in the Middle East, and it is not comparable to the Chinese civilization at all.

The rise of modern Europe is the result of the development of the whole Eurasia, not the original creation of Europeans. Human development is a "relay race". Chinese civilization, Islamic civilization and other civilizations have completed the first few sticks, while European powers have only successfully completed the last stick.
