Creation background

The creative motivation and root of "rare folk songs" is folk songs, which have evolved into popular folk songs through folk singing and updating. The emerging civic literature in Ming Dynasty is the beginning of a brand-new aesthetic consciousness in the history of China literature. Liaozhai inherits Feng Menglong's concept of civic ethical identity, and its depiction of reality and ideal world, men and women, good and evil, debt and compensation, strength, sacredness and blasphemy is full of opposition.

Although reality and fantasy are accompanied by imperfections, Liaozhai is by no means a sad song of disillusionment, and many chapters of it are full of ideal brilliance, enabling listeners to glimpse stories that did not belong to them at that time. The eleven works of the album are all folk songs belonging to this era.

The overture is based on Guangxi folk songs. "Luo Cha Haicheng" uses the back sound; "Flower Demon" is the current tune; Listening to the mirror is a noisy tune; "Lunanke" is helpless; "upset song" is a children's song; "Painting the Wall" is an embroidered purse tune; "Pearl" is a blowing song in Hebei; "Pian Pian" is a Taoist sentiment; Painted skin is the tone of Innius, and future movies are the tone of telling stories.

This album is a thematic concept album that combines the text of Liaozhai and the impression of folk music after Tanci. Dao Lang also used this album to try to create a second sculpture of pop music and folk traditional culture.

Because the folk tunes appearing in the album are widely spread in the local area, involving a lot of theoretical knowledge of national music, the music creation of the album has been assisted by the music producer Hao Lei, the performance artist Liang of Jilin Ji Troupe and the performance artist of Jilin Province. For a musical form with background sound, Dao Lang also read relevant documents and documentaries, and consulted many professionals.
