Traditional control of control

Define the scope of the subsystem

A formal control model may be established for an employee, a department or the whole organization, while the control itself may be aimed at special inputs, production processes or outputs.

Determine the characteristics to be measured.

It is necessary to determine the kind of information to be obtained in the control process. To establish a formal control process, the following contents need to be determined in advance:

(1) measurable characteristics

(2) The cost of obtaining every feature information related to the expected goal.

(3) Does the change of each characteristic affect the subsystem's goal?

Establish standards

Standards are the basis and scale for measuring actual work performance. Standards come from organizational goals, but they are not equal to organizational goals. Control standards include cost, profit, working hours, material consumption quota per unit product, etc.

gather data

The purpose of data acquisition is to obtain the measured value of each predetermined characteristic.

Measure performance

Find out the deviation information between the actual work situation and the standard, and evaluate the quality of the actual work according to this information.

Diagnosis and correction

Including evaluating the type and quantity of deviation and finding the reason of deviation. When the deviation is large and affects the target, take action.
