Modern agricultural products are transported by railway, highway, waterway and air.

In order to promote the circulation of fresh agricultural products, China has opened a green channel for fresh agricultural products. On the waterway, vehicles legally loaded with fresh agricultural products are exempt from vehicle tolls. Highway toll stations on the "green channel" network should set up special crossings for "green channel" according to regulations, and set up special signs for "green channel" to guide fresh agricultural products transport vehicles to pass quickly and preferentially.

Waterway transportation (including inland river and sea transportation) has the characteristics of large volume, low transportation cost, low investment, slow speed, poor flexibility and continuity, and is suitable for the transportation of bulk, low-value and various bulk agricultural products.

Air transport has many advantages, such as high speed, low investment, not limited by local topographic conditions and long transportation distance, but there are also some disadvantages, such as small carrying capacity, high transportation cost and being easily affected by climatic conditions. Suitable for long-distance passenger transport and transportation of high-grade, foreign trade agricultural products and urgently needed agricultural products.
