Campus Culture of Lanzhou No.5 Middle School

The school attaches importance to teaching students according to their aptitude and classifying them into different categories. High school grades are set up key classes, equipped with excellent senior teachers with rich experience in teaching; junior high school grades are set up mathematical Olympiad class, to train outstanding students; the school has a folk orchestra, orchestra, marching band and track and field, ball games, wushu, aerobics and other types of sports teams, the development of students' specialties.

The school's folk orchestra was named "Lanzhou City Secondary School Students' Ethnic Orchestra" by the Lanzhou Municipal Bureau of Education in November 2004, and has won awards for participating in national, provincial and municipal cultural and artistic performances, and has successfully held four Lanzhou City Secondary School Students' New Year's Concerts since 2003, which has been highly praised by all sectors of the community.
