The Teochew dialect belongs to a branch of the Southern Min dialect, which is quite different from modern Chinese. Chaozhou dialect, also known as Chaoshan dialect or "Teochew language", is a simple and elegant language with rich vocabulary, unique phonetics and ancient semantics, and retains a lot of ancient phonetics, grammar and vocabulary, which has become the strongest link between the Teochew people at home and abroad. "Five groups of sculptures are printed in the stamps as the symbols of the five special economic zones of Shantou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Xiamen and Hainan. The starting ceremony of Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay (Shantou Station) was held on the pedestal of this sculpture group. Customs Clock Tower The Customs Clock Tower, located at No.2 Wai Ma Road, Shantou, started construction in 1919 and was completed in 1921, built by the British, is one of the earliest buildings in Shantou since the opening of the port. The predecessor of Shantou Customs, Chao Customs, had been working in this building before the liberation, and after the liberation until 1988, the Customs Clock Tower had also been the office of Shantou Customs Headquarter Organization. The original Customs Clock Tower is a two-story reinforced concrete structure with a floor area of 1556.2 square meters, rectangular structure, corridors around the periphery, elaborate interior decorations, inlaid in the roof of the main entrance of the clock for the marble face, black Roman numerals, the Customs Clock Tower is also named after. In December 2006, Shantou Customs, following the principle of "appearance restoration", formally launched the restoration project of the clock tower and completed it successfully in June 2008. The restored Customs Clock Tower has an indoor area of more than 1,500 square meters, which serves as the Shantou Customs History Exhibition Hall. The clock tower witnessed the history of Shantou's opening for a hundred years.
