What are the main components of blast furnace dry slag (dry slag) and how to recycle it?

Blast furnace slag consists of gangue in iron ore,

The substances formed by ash in fuel and nonvolatile components in solvent (usually limestone) are mainly composed of calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, aluminum oxide and silicon dioxide, accounting for about 95% of the total blast furnace slag. Blast furnace slag belongs to silicate material, and its chemical composition is similar to that of natural ore and portland cement. It can replace natural rocks and be used as raw materials for cement production.

For a long time, blast furnace slag in China will be mainly used as cement raw material. At present, there are some problems in water production from water-quenched blast furnace slag, such as large consumption of fresh water, unrecoverable physical heat of slag, emission of pollutants such as sulfur dioxide and hydrogen sulfide. Therefore, the development trend of blast furnace slag treatment is to make efficient use of sensible heat of slag while using dry granulated slag as cement raw material.
