The Chinese New Year is the most bustling and joyful traditional festival of the year, and it is also the busiest festival.
It was Spring Festival one year when I went home to visit my grandma and grandpa. As soon as I entered the house, I saw that my grandma and grandpa were busy putting up couplets. At that time, I was still small, and did not know what is a couplet, so I asked grandpa: "Grandpa, this red thing is what ah?" Grandpa smiled and replied, "This is a couplet. Every year when the Spring Festival arrives, every family has to put them up." "Why do you have to put them up?" I asked curiously. "It's to foretell that the next year's wealth will roll in and there will be a good harvest." Grandpa still smiled and patiently explained. I nodded my head after listening with seeming understanding. At this time grandma took out two big red lanterns and prepared to hang them, I also wanted to go over to take a look, but my mom called me and said, "Son, come over here for a moment and help me take this." I ran over and saw that my mom was putting up the Chinese character for "福", but I realized that the character was upside down. So I said to my mom, "This character is upside down." My mom touched my head and said with a smile, "The Chinese character for "福", which means "good fortune", should be pasted upside down. In ancient times, there was an emperor who had the character "福" posted every year. One year, an illiterate person posted the word "Fu" upside down. The emperor was so angry that he ordered the man to be arrested. One of the eunuchs even said to the emperor, 'Your Majesty, doesn't this mean that your fortune has arrived? Don't be angry, rest your anger.' When the emperor heard this, he was right. So he turned his anger into joy, and immediately released the man, and gave him some gold, but also ordered to let every year to paste down the 'Fu'. And so the custom was passed down. Well, you see that grandma is cutting window flowers, you go too." I was very happy when I heard that, so I ran into the house as fast as I could. Sure enough, when my grandma, who was cutting the window flowers, saw me coming, she let me sit down and watch her cutting. I was very surprised by her skillful movements. I was very surprised at her skillful movements. An old man could actually cut out such window decorations! I said to my grandma, "I want to learn too." Grandma agreed. I began to listen to my grandma talk about the main points of the action, "First, cut a small hole in the center, then use scissors to cut the sides into a wavy shape, then use scissors to trim the small pattern inside, be careful not to cut into the small hole, or it will break." Grandma said and did it all at once, I also picked up the scissors and started to learn from my grandma, I finished it all at once, I was so proud of myself, but when I unfolded it, it broke. I blushed, but did not give up in but has been non-stop do, repeat the grandma's look once, twice three times ...... finally in the tenth time when there is a mold, I was so happy, immediately put it pasted in my bedroom.
After I finished, it was already noon, and my grandma went to cook. After I ate, I went to play with my buddies.
This Spring Festival was such a happy, festive holiday!
4.2023 About Spring Festival Essay 700 Words Sample Essay Part 4
The New Year is coming, and every face is overflowing with endless joy. Classmates and friends are giving each other gifts and speaking some good wishes for the New Year.
I stood alone by the window, looking out at everything that was killed by the harsh winter, and couldn't help but shiver. "Alas! Time flies, the year 20__ is drawing to a close and a new year is on the way!"
Lamenting the relentlessness of time, I remembered my teachers and classmates of the three years of junior high school. I indulge in my own good memories, thinking about those years we spent together ......
The tug-of-war field, the students are full of confidence, desperate to fight with each other, cheerleaders shouting their voices to cheer for us, after the victory, we cheered together, jumping scene again and again refreshed in my mind! ......
The teacher's kind face is especially clear in my memory. She was a 'female teacher in her forties, with a few wrinkles already on her face, yet she did not look old. In her eyes, I saw the kind of care and love she had for her students, and her infinite love for the work she was engaged in.
Three years, she cared for, sympathize with each of our students, in her heart each of us is her child. When we succeed, she will be happy for us, will tell us must be modest; when we are disappointed, she will comfort us, help us to drum up the courage to start again; when we have difficulties, she will help us, for us to think of ways, and constantly inspire us to move forward ......
Thinking of all this, I feel even more Sentimental, the more I think about it, the more I think about it, the more I think about it, the more hurt ......
Suddenly, a withered yellow leaf drifted down from my eyes, its former delicate face no longer existed, leaving only a parched body, emaciated face. At this time, my heart produced a kind of inexpressible admiration: in those days when life belongs to you, you secretly draw out the shoots, quietly thrive, gradually become independent, and try your best to create nutrition - supplying the tree, but also nourish yourself. For the sake of others, you do not stop laboring day and night, whether it is cloudy or sunny. The tree is tall and strong because of you, and the flower is beautiful and pale because of you. Now the autumn wind announced the end of your life, but you have no complaints, just gently, quietly fall. I think: your greatness will eventually be someone to understand, someone to praise!
Time is so fair, it never stays, never favor anyone; time is also so ruthless, it makes the leaves from tender green to yellow, it makes us separate from teachers, classmates.
The year 20__ is coming to an end and a new year will come. I send my best wishes: our friendship will last forever, and our teacher-student relationship will last forever!

Wrapping dumplings is not my strong suit, but I know a lot more about dumplings than my grandmother did. I am very happy to say: "The reason why dumplings are called dumplings is that in the past, there was a kind of money called dumplings, but also called flat food or biscuits, symbolizing reunion, and take the meaning of the "new year," which is very auspicious. In addition, the shape of the dumpling also symbolizes the Yuanbao, which also has the auspicious meaning of attracting wealth and treasures. That's why everyone likes to make dumplings at festivals, especially the Chinese New Year, because of this symbolism."
At this time, the grandmother also opened the box, smilingly said, "Quickly go, you go to get a few small coins and water in the sugar."

New Year's Eve! New Year's Eve! The new year has come again. Children, do you know the origin of the New Year? What are the customs? I'll tell you all about it!
Legend has it that in the past, there was a monster called "New Year". Every New Year's Eve, people in the village would flee to the mountains to avoid the harm of the beast.
On this New Year's Eve, the people were ready to take refuge in the mountains. At that moment, a beggar came from outside the village. No one could care about the old man, except an old woman who gave him some money. Only an old woman gave the old man some food and advised him to go up to the mountain to avoid the "year" beast, the old man laughed and said, "If the old woman lets me stay overnight, I will definitely get rid of the "year"." In the middle of the night, the "year" beast broke into the village, found the old lady's home door stickers red paper, house lights, but also came "crackling" firecrackers. "The beast was afraid of the red color, the fire and the sound of the firecrackers, so it could only run away. The next day, people came back, the village was still safe and sound. The story spread very quickly, and people knew how to drive away the Nian.
Since then, every year on New Year's Eve, every family puts up red couplets, sets off firecrackers, and keeps watch. The custom spread and eventually became the Spring Festival, the grandest of all traditional Chinese festivals.
Knowing the origin of the New Year, let's go to understand how the Shaoxing people celebrate the New Year! In Shaoxing, as soon as the lunar December, people are busy preparing for the New Year: wrapping rice dumplings, dusting, killing chickens and geese, sun-dried fish, pork sauce, prepare New Year's clothes, buy gifts for friends and relatives.
On the night of the 23rd day of the Lunar New Year, every family sends the god of the stove to heaven. After sending the Zaoshen, before New Year's Eve, every family always chooses an auspicious day for the Blessing, which is the grandest festival of the year. The Shaoxing people call it blessing the Bodhisattva to thank the gods for their blessings and pray for happiness in the coming year. It is said that the Bodhisattva in heaven will not enter an unclean house. Therefore, before the blessing, it is necessary to dust and scrub the hall, the sacrificial table, and the sacrificial vessels clean.
On New Year's Eve, the first thing to do is to give the ancestors their yearly portion, that is, to offer sacrifices to the ancestors. After the ancestor worship, the family will get together to eat New Year's Eve dinner, which is the most sumptuous meal. After the New Year's Eve dinner, children bow to their elders, who distribute coins wrapped in red paper to their elders, commonly known as "New Year's Eve money". When the New Year's bell rings, some people set off firecrackers, commonly known as "closing firecrackers". Some people will play entertainment, sleepless all night until dawn, commonly known as the New Year's Eve, sitting on the night of longevity, it is said that sitting on the night of longevity can be blessed with longevity.
New Year's Eve customs, Shaoxing and foreign much the same. That's how busy people are during the month when the new year and the old year are alternating.

This time, my father and I "honorably" received the task of cleaning the glass. Our house is on the 4th floor, and I was scared to death when I stood on the window sill. I looked down and saw the "abyss". However, things have to be done, I hastened to discuss with my father, he will wipe the "risky" outside, and I will wipe the inside as far as I can.
Started to wipe, I first stained the detergent rag to wipe the inside of the window, but, because a year did not wipe, the corners of the window has accumulated a layer of dust, I first with the tip of the finger set of rags from the window around the edge of the hard to gouge a circle, and then I washed that piece of cloth, and then stained with a little bit of detergent, and began to "attack" the window! "I'm not going to be able to do that.
I used the wet cloth gently wiped the window, until the window has a little bit of detergent traces, I brought a clean dry cloth, a small piece of a small piece of slowly wipe the window on the stains, but a piece of stains to me "bowed down", but only a few pieces of dirt is still in the window, do up! Back, in my and my dad's **** with the effort, one side of the window and clean similar to the new one. At this time, mom in the house of health also cleaned up, the old also "resigned" finished. Looking at the new house, I can see that next year, each of us will have "victory" written on our fortunes.

There is a kind of pastry, it is small, it is exquisite; there is a kind of pastry, it is soft, it is sweet; this kind of high-color pastry is the square cake in my hometown. People give each other gifts during the New Year holidays to express their good wishes for the New Year, and eating cakes on New Year's Eve has become a custom that has been passed down from generation to generation of our local people in Shanghai, and now it is one of the "New Year's goods" that is essential for every household.
The delicious square cake, sweet and sticky, teach people to eat once they can not stop talking, but the most reminiscent of me, or their own handmade square cake.
It was at the Happy Elderly Village in Songjiang. On the eve of the Spring Festival, we were invited to make square cakes for the centenarians there. I was so excited because I had eaten a lot of square cakes since I was a kid, but it was the first time I made them myself!
The quiet village was bustling with activity, and everyone was hot and busy. The snow-white flour had been sifted and was waiting for us to press them out.
Under the guidance of the master, I was excited to go on the battlefield, the first flour carefully poured into the four-square large mill, which has a small grid, to fill them one by one, and then add bean paste, sesame, date paste and other fillings, and then finally covered with a layer of flour, snow-white flour sprinkled on the sky as if the snowflakes dancing and flying! After the flour is poured, it starts to be pressed, the master repeatedly urged that this is the most critical step, it must be pressed firmly, or a moment to take off the mold can be spilled. I carefully pressed, but the mold still failed, spilled two pieces. The master said to me with a smile as he did it, "The key to demolding is "fast, accurate and ruthless", because the flour is too soft, and if you shake your hand, it will spill. The words just fell, only to hear the "pop" sound, molding success, a piece of snow-white crystal square cake is ready.
After a few failed attempts, my square cake was finally made. Watching the master put them into the steamer, I was not only looking forward to it. It's not easy to make this small square cake!
After half an hour, my square cakes came out of the oven, they were small, white, sitting there quietly, with a fresh smell coming out, making people not want to lay their hands on them. I was the first to share the handmade delicacies with my grandparents in the village and watched them enjoying the square cakes, I felt the cakes in my mouth were even sweeter. Yes, although our living conditions have improved, and square cakes have become "readily available" under commercialized production, there is always something missing in our mouths. I think, should be the missing part of the warmth of the flavor it.
In that cold winter day, this cake filled our hearts with warmth. I think, no matter where I am in the future, the warmth of this square cake, the warmth of my hometown Shanghai, will always remain in my heart.
