In the middle of the moon, Chang 'e is famous for its beauty, so Yue Bai, a young girl, hopes to "look like Chang 'e and the bright moon". In the Tang Dynasty, it was quite popular to enjoy and play with the moon in the Mid-Autumn Festival. In the capital of the Northern Song Dynasty, on the evening of August 15, people all over the city, rich and poor, old and young, put on adult clothes and went to Yue Bai to burn incense, express their wishes and pray for the blessing of the moon god. In the Southern Song Dynasty, people gave mooncakes to each other for reunion.

While feeling sorry, many people couldn't bear to tear down Zhu's tomb, but it seemed inappropriate to bury Liang, so they buried together and erected a monument, with Liang in black and Zhu in red. It is reported that butterfly lovers's well-known stories such as "Stealing Fairy Grass" and "Flooding Jinshan Temple" have been circulated among the people for a long time. For details, see Dan Liang Bao Bo Juan.

This legend has been passed down until now, and the big stone corner that fell from the top of the stone archway and killed the fishmonger is still lying under the archway. "There is a god on the head of three feet", no matter what people do, it is for themselves. This is the natural law that good is rewarded with good and evil with evil. I hope people can get some inspiration from this folklore.

Folk Stories and Legends in Guangzhou (I) The Origin of Wuyang City

Why is Guangzhou called "Five Yangcheng", "Yangcheng" and "Guangzhou"? Legend has it that a long time ago, five immortals in the South China Sea, dressed in red, orange, yellow, green and purple, rode five-color fairy sheep and carried six ears of grain with one pole, and floated to the then state hall "Chuting" to give them to the local people, wishing there would never be famine here, and then drifted away. People spread the seeds of grain on the earth, and the barren land grew golden ears of wheat. Since then, the land of South Guangdong has been in good weather and the crops have been bumper.

People are grateful to these five immortals, so they built a "Five Immortals View" where they came from, and called the car "God of Grains". Since then, the ear of five grains and Wuyang have become the city emblem and nicknames of Guangzhou. Up to now, there is still a big stone in Wuxian Temple with the immortal's thumb printed on it.

(2) The Legend of the Pearl River

The name of the Pearl River is related to a pearl. Legend; Zhao Lun, the ancient king of Nanyue, had a treasure of the town called "Yangling Zhu Bao", which was really priceless. Unfortunately, later generations regarded Zhu Bao as a sacrificial object. There was a scholar named Cui Wei in the Tang Dynasty. By chance, he got Jing Yue's dry cover from the imperial doctor Bao Gu, and saved a big white snake-Yujingzi. Xie Wang visited and took him to the tomb of the King of Yue, where he got this treasure. The news spread quickly. Soon, a Persian businessman crossed the ocean and said that the Persian king had lost a Manizu, which was exactly the same as this one, so he bought Zhu Lan in Yangling for $100,000.

Persian merchants returned home with this treasure in high spirits, and the boat went down the river, with picturesque scenery on both sides. Seeing the charming scenery and water, Persian merchants couldn't help opening the treasure chest and taking out the orb in their hands. I saw the orb shining brightly, reflecting the surrounding mountains and rivers. Suddenly, the wind suddenly blew, white waves rolled, and a white light jumped into the sky from his palm, shot into the river, and got into a mossy boulder. Zhu Bao couldn't bear to leave her lovely hometown and finally jumped into the river forever.

Since then, the huge stone has been shining at night, rising and falling with the tide and floating on the river forever. Later called "Haizhu Stone", this river is also called "Pearl River". Today, Haizhu Stone has been integrated with the land, and Stone K has given birth to a big banyan tree, which stands in Haizhu Garden. There is a poem saying that "the pearl of the bottom story has been solved, and Hepu was able to guess at that time." When the Hu family did not exist, the old stone river was covered with moss. " That's what I'm talking about.

(3) The Legend of Pineapple Temple

On the north bank of Shiziyang in the Pearl River Estuary, there was a Fuqing town in ancient times, which was a big port. The crew members who came and went went to worship at the Nanhai Temple in the town. This temple is the only one of the four great sea temples in ancient China. It is dedicated to Hong Sheng, the water god of the South China Sea, and has a strong fragrance. Why Nanhai Temple is also called "Pineapple Temple" is said to be related to two pineapple tree trees at the entrance of the temple.

According to legend, a long time ago, Daxi Sikong, the messenger of the pineapple kingdom, came to Fuxi River mouth with a foreign merchant ship, went ashore for sacrifice, and planted two pineapple tree trees in front of the temple. But he longed for the beautiful scenery here, missed the time to return to the boat, stayed alone in the local area, stood in front of the temple for a long time, and became a stone man. The villagers sympathized with him and enshrined him in the temple, so this temple is also called "Pineapple Temple". It witnessed that Guangzhou is the starting point of China's Maritime Silk Road.
