What operas are there in Shanxi?
1, Jin Opera
China local opera, one of the four major Bangzi operas in Shanxi, also known as Shanxi Bangzi, is a traditional opera in China. Because it is produced in the middle of Shanxi, it is also called Zhonglu Bangzi, also known as "Chinese opera", which is mainly popular in the north-central part of Shanxi Province and parts of northern Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia and Hebei Province. There are two kinds of tunes, namely, tunes on the road and tunes on the road. The tune on the road is North Road Bangzi, and the tune on the road is Middle Road Bangzi.
2. Pu Opera
During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Pu Opera was called "Luantan", "Shanxi Opera" and "Shanshan Bangzi Opera" in other provinces. After Jiaqing and Daoguang, it was also called "Shanxi Bangzi"; Shaanxi is called "East Road Drama", and northern and central Shanxi is called "South Road Drama". Local people in southern Shanxi used to call it "drama" or "random drama". Pu Opera has a close relationship with Shaanxi Opera, and it often takes turns to perform on stage, becoming an inseparable "sister play".
3. North Road Bangzi
Hokuriku Bangzi, also known as "drama on the road", was formed in the middle of16th century and matured in the early of19th century. Popular in the central mountainous area of northwest China, central and western Inner Mongolia, northwestern Hebei and northwestern Shaanxi, it is one of the most influential operas in North China. The birthplace of Hokuriku Bangzi is in Datong area north of Yanmenguan.
4. Shangdang Bangzi
Shangdang Bangzi is one of the four major bangzi in Shanxi Province, which is popular in the southeast of Shanxi Province. It enjoys the same cultural qualification as Pu Opera and Jin Opera, and is the representative drama of Shangdang Opera. During Daoguang period, it was called local local opera, 1934 was called Shangdang Gongdiao when going to Taiyuan, the provincial capital, and 1954 was called Shangdang Bangzi. Shangdang Bangzi mainly sings Bangzi Opera, and also sings Kunqu Opera, Pihuang Opera, Luoluo Opera and Xi Juan Opera, commonly known as "Kunbanghuang".
5, gongs and drums miscellaneous drama
Gong and Drum Miscellaneous Drama, also known as "Gong and Drum Miscellaneous Drama" and "Longyan Miscellaneous Drama", is one of the traditional local operas in Shanxi, China. He Yang's dances come down in one continuous line. There are many theories about its origin. According to the longyan temple stone tablet in Linyi County in the second year of Zhenyuan in Tang Dynasty, there was a zaju in longyan temple. According to the old custom, in the first month, longyan temple in Linyi County will perform gongs and drums to worship Buddha, so the gongs and drums are also called "Longyan Zaju".
