How did China's ancient military weapons evolve?
First, before the slave society. Before fighting for the society, because we didn't master the smelting technology of metals, the weapons at that time were basically made of wood, such as wooden sticks or guns, and some were made of hard animal bones. At this time, metal has basically not yet stepped onto the stage of weapons.
Second, the slave society. Throughout the slave society, the weapons were mainly bronzes, because the melting point of bronzes was relatively low and the smelting requirements were not high, and ironware appeared at the end of slave society. Therefore, in the whole slave society, bronze swords, halberds, or guns and arrows were the main weapons.
Third, feudal society. Due to the formation of iron and steel smelting technology, weapon materials gradually changed from bronze to steel. With the development of science and technology, more and more weapons are manufactured, such as swords, spears, halberds, axes and forks. After the Song Dynasty, firearms were gradually studied, but due to the lack of technology, ancient military weapons were mainly cold weapons.
