City affairs

Taking advantage of the National Day Golden Week, I went to "Longtan". This trip is "pleasant surprise" but not dangerous.

Longtan, hidden in mountains and rivers, is a provincial traditional village, located in the southeast of Xiling Township, pingnan county. As soon as I entered the village, I saw the old house promenade, small bridges and flowing water, and the tourists were bustling. Longtan village is famous for its cultural creation, and is known as the "net red ancient village", which makes me worry that this is another village with a strong commercial atmosphere.

Walking down the street from the parking lot doesn't make any difference. Then go deep into the village along the stream and gradually feel its charm.

The yellow wall brick is built by the stream, stepping on the bluestone road, and the stream is murmuring. In small villages, homestays, book bars, cafes, etc. They are all transformed from ancient houses with unique styles.

The hospitable host family invited us to visit indoors. There is no gorgeous decoration, only some simple decoration, but it is very warm. The wooden house creaked, and when I was young, I saw noisy figures with my friends in the old house.

Some people say that everyone in Longtan is an artist. I think only people who have really been to Longtan will believe this.

Longtan villagers use painting as a medium, attracting many artists and tourists. The painting room is full of students' works. It is the hobby of many villagers to show the new look of their hometown on canvas. Although it is not as good as the master, it has its own style.

Walking in Longtan Village, surrounded by green water and green mountains, you can see the scenery. Long alleys and scattered old houses add a bit of charm to the years. Such an ancient Longtan village is naturally the first choice for sketching and photography.

The artistic atmosphere of Longtan village can be reflected not only in the brush. Siping Opera is known as "the living fossil of Siping Opera in Ming Dynasty", which is one of the national intangible cultural heritages and a high-pitched opera. During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, it was introduced into Longtan Village from Jiangxi, and now Longtan Ancient Village is the only place where Siping Opera remains.

In Laolongtan Village, people not only use Siping Opera to express the joy of the festival, but also personally brew yellow wine to inject a little drunkenness into the joy.

The mountain spring water in the village tastes sweet and is a good source for brewing yellow rice wine, while the high-quality rice produced in alpine paddy fields is a good raw material for koji making. In 2007, Pingnan Monascus production and yellow wine brewing techniques were listed in the provincial intangible cultural heritage list. In order to better inherit the wine culture, people built a yellow wine museum in the village.

Although Longtan village has been built into an ancient village, it still retains its original rhythm of life. Unlike some renovated ancient villages, shops are highly homogenized and even compete to sell some gifts that have nothing to do with local culture.

When I visited Longtan village, it was the rice harvest season, and the villagers were drying rice in the open space at their doorstep, which was a scene of autumn harvest. Some elderly people will set up stalls at their doorsteps to sell agricultural products, such as Castanea henryi, persimmons, peach gum, dried bamboo shoots and mushrooms, which are mostly local specialties.

Some people say that the core attraction of Longtan Village is its special humanistic temperament from the inside out, and it has a kind of magic that can make people feel calm. Longtan is a place where people can calm down and think about life itself. Unfortunately, I went in a hurry and failed to appreciate its temperament.

People call Longtan village a secret place, I think, not only because it is geographically hidden in the depths of the mountains, giving people a sense of distance, but also because of its special humanistic temperament, which touches tourists.
