After hanging for a long time, the daughters-in-law in the mourning hall became bored, and they often drank tea, chatted and even played cards around the coffin during the funeral period, which made them unprepared. Finally, feast the customers. It was called "eating and cooking" or "eating and serving" in ancient times. Opening is a ceremony for relatives and friends to formally mourn the dead.

Once upon a time, people who died before the age of 50 were considered not dead, but dead. So there was the custom of "donating one's life", that is, the eldest son of the deceased offered tea to the elderly at home or in the village, demanding that his life be shortened to make up for the age of the deceased above 5 1. Such a luxurious and complicated funeral is not rich for the Yin family. It is recorded in the official records of Chaozhou in the Qing Dynasty that after the crane was opened, it cost a lot of money to invite drums and troupes to perform at night, hold parties all night and hold banquets during the day. People who lose their homes often can't afford it, so they have to ask relatives and friends to settle down. But the dead parents, in view of social pressure, had to go all out.
