Li Shizhen's Compendium of Materia Medica in Ming Dynasty is the largest pharmaceutical work in ancient China, containing 1892 kinds of medicines, of which 33 kinds are recorded with the special item of "repairing and curing"; Miao Xiyong's Canning Dafa is the second monograph after Lei Gong's Canning Theory.

The process of the formation of the processing theory of traditional Chinese medicine: famous doctors have their own specialties. Zhang Yuansu, Zhu Danxi and others paid special attention to the different applications of drugs before and after processing and the functions of processing accessories, and began to summarize all kinds of processing functions. In the Ming Dynasty, they further systematically sorted out and gradually formed the traditional processing theory.
