What is the name of the low wall above the roof of the old house at home?
Horsehead wall, also known as wind-fire wall, firewall and stacking wall, is an important feature of Jiangxi architecture and Huizhou architecture (Huizhou architecture) in the traditional residential architecture school of Han nationality. In particular, the wall that is higher than the roof of two gables, that is, the top of the gables, is called "horse head wall" because its shape resembles a horse head.
The structure of the horse head wall is layered with the slope of the roof, and the length of the slope is set to several steps. Three rows of eaves tiles are selected at the top of the wall, with small blue tiles, and the top of each pile head is equipped with a windbreak board (golden flower board). There are various Soviet-style "horse heads" on it, such as "magpie tail", "printing bucket" and "sitting kiss". "Magpie tail style" is to carve a brick like magpie tail as the seat head; "Printing bucket" refers to the square bucket-shaped brick with the word "Tian" fired in the kiln, but there are two ways to handle the printing bucket support: "sitting bucket" and "picking bucket". "Sitting kiss" is a kind of "kissing beast" component fired in a kiln and installed on the head of the seat. There are common mammals such as chickens, anchovies and dogs. There is also a "golden seal style" or "Qian Chao style", which shows the owner's pursuit of the ideal of "studying to be an official"
