There is a saying in folk songs that "the son-in-law is invited on the eleventh day", that is, the eleventh day of the first month is the "son-in-law's day", on which the father-in-law fetes his son-in-law. According to legend, the fifteenth day of the first month is the birthday of Lei Zu, the silkworm god, so this day has become a day for people to sacrifice to the silkworm god.
