Is the anti-Japanese famous in Shaolin Boxing?
Since ancient times, Shaolin Wushu has dominated the world. However, in the middle of the Ming Dynasty, the famous Shaolin stick of Shaolin Temple
Since ancient times, Shaolin Wushu has dominated the world. However, in the middle of the Ming Dynasty, the famous Shaolin stick of Shaolin Temple in Songshan, Henan Province was once lost. Later, due to the famous anti-Japanese name Yu in Ming Dynasty, it was passed back to the monks in Shaolin Temple, bringing Shaolin stick technology back to Shaoshan Shaolin Temple. The following is what I arranged for you: Welcome to read!
Shaolin Sect is good at stick technique. In the Ming Dynasty and even the Qing Dynasty, his marksmanship and boxing were also criticized. It shows that the martial arts system of Shaolin Temple was not very complete at that time.
The origin of Shaolin stick technique is recorded in Cheng Zhongdou, a martial artist in Ming Dynasty. Another source is the Yu Jia stick that I want to talk about here.
Yu was a famous anti-Japanese warrior in Ming Dynasty, with high martial arts skills, especially stick skills. He studied under many masters and was deeply influenced by his teacher Li Liangxin's Jingchu stick technique. Later, I learned from many masters, and it is a complete collection of North-South stick techniques. I was Megatron then. Today, Yu Jia stick is still regarded as the best stick in the world by Wulin people.
Yu was ordered to leave Shaanxi for the anti-Japanese front in Jiangsu and Zhejiang. Jade heard that the "King Kinnaro" cudgel taught by Shaolin Temple was very powerful, so she stopped by to visit Shaolin Temple. King Jinnaluo is the Buddha's protective bodhi, which is powerful, so Shaolin Temple's stunt stick skill is named after it. According to the explanation of Shaolin stick technique, King Jinnaluo is the famous Shaolin stick technique "Hag Stick". Nowadays, this stick skill has been lost in Shaolin Temple, and it is difficult for future generations to see its true meaning.
According to Yu's written records, it can be seen that the Shaolin Temple at that time was somewhat similar to today's Shaolin Temple, that is, it understood the momentum created by sea tactics. The host sent hundreds of monks to dance with guns and make sticks, which was very shocking. Unfortunately, this appearance may be very effective in foreign affairs, but it is useless for experts like this and generals who have experienced many battles.
After seeing him, he didn't praise him, but shook his head again and again, saying that this stick technique "has lost the true tactic of the ancients." Shaolin Temple will ask for advice from. He replied: "This is not a day's work, nor is it impossible for several years." Shaolin Temple chose two strong young masters, one is Zong Qin and the other is Pu Cong. They went to the anti-Japanese front and took time to learn Yu's stick skills.
After three years of artistic achievements, Yu praised them for "ten steps and one kill, a thousand miles is feasible", which means that there were few opponents in Wulin at that time. After returning to Shaolin Temple, they became martial arts coaches and taught more than 2,000 monks to learn Yu's stick technique, among which 100 reached the real formula. Later, Yu presented his martial arts monograph "Sword Sutra" to Shaolin Temple, from which the mainstream Shaolin martial arts of Yu School was born.
An important principle in the Sword Sutra is to combine rigidity with softness. Wu Xun, a famous scholar and martial artist in Qing Dynasty, studied under Hong Zhuan, a master of Shaolin gun. In "The Story of Arms", he told some scenes of learning gun skills in Shaolin Temple. He saw many Shaolin monks practicing Yu Jia's wonderful skills. According to his description, the Yu Jia stick, or at least the Jiebang school represented by Yu Jia stick, was very popular in Shaolin Temple at that time. Wu Xun praised Shaolin's marksmanship for combining hardness with softness, but also pointed out that Shaolin's marksmanship was mixed with too many stick techniques and was not pure enough. He also sharply criticized the Shaolin stick technique of General Cheng Zhongdou, a martial artist in the Ming Dynasty, which was only rigid but not soft. By comparing the two, we can clearly draw the conclusion that Yu's theory of combining rigidity with softness had a great influence on Shaolin Wushu, such as gunplay.
After the spread of art, Shaolin Temple, after a long period of digestion and absorption, transformed all kinds of martial arts instruments originally and later introduced into Shaolin by using the theory of Sword Sutra and the new stick method. After decades of hard work, the theory and techniques of Sword Sutra were finally integrated into Shaolin boxing and equipment, and Yu School Shaolin was formed. This laid an unparalleled lofty position in the history of Wushu development in China.
With regard to the inheritance of Yu stick, although many martial artists today claim that they know Yu stick, especially the Southern School inherited the advantages of Yu ancestral home, claiming that their stick technique is naturally Yu stick, I am skeptical about their inheritance of Yu stick. First of all, after becoming famous, Yu mainly lived in the north, and there was no evidence of martial arts in his hometown. Secondly, there was no routine in the early Ming Dynasty, and Yu Bangzi was no exception. Therefore, it should be said that Yu Jiagun has no complete inheritance system. The first way of the four-way stick technique of Yu school Shaolin can only be regarded as retaining more technical content of Yu family stick. Although at that time, Shaolin stick method was criticized, and Shaolin stick method included the mainstream of other martial arts schools, but it was still a process of digestion, absorption and integration with other martial arts schools including stick method at that time. Yu's stick technique did not completely replace Shaolin's original stick technique, but was thoroughly digested and absorbed into Shaolin Kung Fu system.
