What are the main categories of China's traditional ethical thoughts?

The word "ethics or morality" has two meanings in both Chinese and western languages, namely, internal value ideal or external code of conduct. In the actual collision between Christianity and China culture, guided by the local traditions of "simplicity, roundness" and "Yin-Jiao-Fu", the development of these two levels is extremely unbalanced. As far as its overall situation is concerned, "ethicalization" or "moralization" in the sense of code of conduct has always been the main direction of Christianity in China. This "one-dimensional" interpretation framework often leads to a certain degree of dislocation between the "ethical" Christianity in China and the ethical resources that Christianity should contain. If this problem is not solved, Christian ethics cannot realize its potential possibility in the cultural context of China.

Yao Xinyu pointed out in the fourth issue of Ethics Research in 2006 that "ethics" and "morality" are two core concepts in ethics or moral philosophy, but they have been in a state of vague concepts and chaotic logic for a long time, which leads to the "unreasonable name" of ethical and moral education. The author compares these two concepts from the etymological point of view: Chinese culture comparison, English culture comparison and Chinese and Western culture comparison, and draws a conclusion.
