The English name of PFC is "Power Factor Correction", which means "power factor correction". Power factor refers to the relationship between effective power and total power consumption (apparent power), that is, the ratio of effective power divided by total power consumption (apparent power). Basically, the power factor can measure the extent to which electricity is effectively used. The higher the power factor, the higher the power utilization ratio. SVG: Static Var Generator Static Var Generator (STATCOM) is connected to the system through voltage source inverter bridge (VSC) and reactance, and changes the output reactive power by changing the output voltage. SVC: (Static Var Compensator) is a kind of static var compensator, which is mainly different from rotation compensation (synchronous compensation motor). It can refer to the use of switches (including electronic switches) to switch capacitors or reactances for reactive power compensation. APF: (Active Power Filter) Active filter, which mainly emits harmonic current to cancel the harmonic current of the system. It is different from the previous LC passive filtering.

There are two kinds of power quality control: reactive power compensation and harmonic control. APF belongs to filtering; SVG=STATCOM and SVC belong to reactive power compensation together, while PFC is mainly the change of load itself, called power factor correction, which is different from SVG, SVC and APF in essence.
