What is the principle of train operation?
The principle and characteristics of the train;
Train is one of the modern means of transportation for human beings, and it is a typical example of human transportation using fossil energy. Refers to vehicles running on railway tracks, usually consisting of multiple carriages.
The most important mechanical means of transportation in human history, called steam locomotive in the early days, has an independent track. Railway trains can be divided into freight cars and passenger cars according to their load capacity, and there are also passenger cars with both.
Although the diesel locomotive was born late, it came from behind, and its ability was higher than that of the big brother steam locomotive in the train family, which attracted attention. Its outstanding advantages are:
1. speed: diesel locomotive starts quickly and accelerates quickly. Usually, the maximum speed of steam locomotives is 1 10 km, while the maximum speed of diesel locomotives can reach 200 km, increasing the railway capacity by more than 35%.
2. High horsepower: The power of steam locomotives is generally around 3000 horsepower, while diesel locomotives can reach 5000 ~ 8000 horsepower, so the carrying capacity is more.
3. The thermal energy of fuel can be better utilized: the thermal efficiency of steam locomotives is generally only about 7%, while that of diesel locomotives can reach about 38%, which is six times higher, thus saving a lot of fuel.
4. Suitable for water-deficient areas: steam locomotives are the "kings" of water consumption, and a train consumes 3-4 tons of water per 10 km on average. Trains need to bring their own water when they pass through arid and water-deficient areas. According to statistics, a train runs in a water-deficient area. If there are 10 cars, three of them are used to hold water. The cooling of diesel locomotives only needs hundreds of kilograms of water, which can be recycled. Diesel locomotives can run continuously at a time of water 1000 km, so they are known as "iron camels".
5. Driver's driving operation is convenient: the driver of internal combustion engine does not need to add coal and water like a steam locomotive, and the cab is bright and spacious, and the driver has a wide field of vision when operating, which is convenient and safe.
