The Central Cultural Revolution set up an audio and video recording group to record traditional opera for Mao Zedong. The participants were Li Jinquan, Geng Jinqun, Gao Shenglin, Hong Xuefei, Wanying, Hou Shaoqui, Li Zongyi, Du Jinfang, Li Huifang, and Ma Changli in Beijing, and Fang Yang, Liu Yilong, and Min Huifen in Shanghai.
