What is a fishing drum?
A percussion instrument. Ming Dynasty Wang Qi (San Cai Tu Hui) said its "cut off the bamboo for, three or four feet long, with the skin bubbling its head, with two fingers to hit it." Now popular fishing drums made of bamboo, about 92 centimeters long, 6 centimeters in diameter, one end covered with oil film (pig intestine). The method of playing is to hold the drum with the left hand and slap the drum surface below with the right hand. It is the main musical accompaniment to the Taoist-style rap music.
