What does direct injection mean?

Direct injection is a fuel injection technology of automobile engine, also known as direct injection technology. Different from the traditional multi-point injection system, direct injection is to inject fuel directly into the engine cylinder instead of injecting fuel at the cylinder intake. This technology can improve fuel combustion efficiency and reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

Direct injection technology is to directly inject fuel into the high-pressure fuel pump in the cylinder, raise the fuel pressure to a higher level (usually between 1000-2000 psi), and then directly inject fuel into the cylinder through the injector. Because the fuel is directly injected into the cylinder, it can be mixed and burned more quickly, thus improving the combustion efficiency of fuel and reducing fuel consumption and emissions.

Compared with the traditional multi-point injection system, direct injection technology can improve engine power and torque, while reducing fuel consumption and emissions. Therefore, direct injection technology is becoming more and more common in modern automobiles, especially in high-performance and high-efficiency engines.
