Tomb-Sweeping Day originated from ancient sacrificial activities to commemorate and cherish the memory of deceased relatives and ancestors. On this day in Tomb-Sweeping Day, people will go to their ancestors' graves for worship and grave-sweeping ceremonies. People will clean up cemeteries, repair tombstones, and present flowers, food and paper money to their ancestors to show their thoughts and respect for their deceased relatives. 3. Dragon Boat Festival:
Dragon Boat Festival, also known as "Duanyang Festival" and "Double Ninth Festival", is one of the important traditional festivals in China. It usually falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, and it is also one of the 24 solar terms of the China lunar calendar, indicating the official start of summer.
Dragon Boat Festival originated from the ancient dragon boat race and the tradition of commemorating Qu Yuan. Qu Yuan, a great patriotic poet and national hero in ancient China, risked his life for spiritual belief and safeguarding national culture, and finally disappeared into the river. In order to commemorate him, people hold a series of activities such as dragon boat race, eating zongzi and hanging mugwort leaves on the fifth day of May every year to pay homage to and remember Qu Yuan's deeds and spirit.
