World Fortune 500: Chinese car companies accounted for 7 seats, SAIC exceeded BMW, Hyundai
August 10, the latest Fortune 500 list, which is the 26th consecutive year that Fortune magazine has released this list of the world's largest companies.
Chinese companies took three of the top five spots. Wal-Mart was the world's largest company for the seventh consecutive year, Sinopec remained in second place, State Grid moved up to third, PetroChina was fourth and Shell fell to fifth.
In the field of automotive companies, including those of Volkswagen, Toyota, China's FAW and Geely,*** there are 24 auto-based companies on the list.
And Chinese companies occupy 7 series, and among Chinese car companies, SAIC ranks the highest at 52nd globally, surpassing globally famous car companies such as BMW, Nissan and Hyundai.
Overall, among the 24 companies in the automotive industry on the list, Chinese car companies have the most, occupying 7 seats. It is followed by Japan with 6 seats. In addition, Volkswagen remains the top car company in the automotive industry, ranking seventh globally. Toyota follows, ranking 10th globally.
The seven Chinese automakers on the list are Shanghai Automotive Group, China First Automobile Group, Dongfeng Motor Corporation, Beijing Automotive Group, Guangzhou Automotive Industry Group, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, and Chang'an Automobile. It is worth mentioning that the seven car companies, only Geely does not have a joint venture brand.
In addition, it is reported that this year's Fortune 500 list of companies with operating revenues reached a record high of 33 trillion U.S. dollars, close to the sum of the GDP of China and the United States. The threshold (minimum sales revenue) to enter the list was also raised from $24.8 billion to $25.4 billion.
