Introduction to Lingao language
Lingao dialect (also called Lingao dialect) is a language of Lingao people in the northern part of Hainan Island, belonging to the Dong-Tai language family, with a population of about 600,000. It is a language close to Zhuang language and Buyi language in Taiwan Province branch of Dong-Tai language family of Sino-Tibetan language family. Although Lingao people are Han Chinese, Lingao dialect is not a kind of Chinese. Lingao dialect can be divided into two dialects: western dialect, also known as Lincheng dialect and Lincheng dialect, which are mainly distributed in Lingao County, the northeast of Danzhou City and the northern end of Chengmai County. The eastern dialect, also known as Qiongshan dialect and Qiongshan dialect, is mainly distributed in the western suburbs of Haikou City. Lingao English name: Ong Be. Language features: 18 initial (including a zero initial), 6 finals, 44 finals, 4 entering tones, and 2 tones of B, F, M, V, D, T, N, L, G, K, H, nh, J, S, Y and ng. Lingao language is mainly distributed in Lingao, Chengmai, Qiongshan and other places in the northern part of Hainan Island. At the beginning of 1957, the first research group of China Academy of Sciences sent Liang Min, Wang Deli and others to Changgan county in the west of Hainan Island and Lingao, Chengmai and Qiongshan counties in the north of Hainan Island to investigate the uncertain small languages of two local families. Through research, it is determined that the village language of the county (later classified as Dongfang County) belongs to Li branch of Dong-Tai language family, and the other language is Lingao language. The ancestors of Lingao people, like the ancestors of Li people, moved to Hainan Island from Guangdong and Guangxi in China via Leizhou Peninsula and Qiongzhou Strait. About 2500 years ago, when the social productive forces had reached a considerable level and the language development level was relatively high, there were many words about agriculture, animal husbandry and handicrafts in Lingao language that were the same as those in other languages.
