In Yueqing area, Dragon Boat Festival is an important festival, which is also called "four major festivals" with Spring Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and Winter Solstice. 1. Dragon Boat Race

This can be seen from the prevalence of dragon boat racing in Yueqing during the Southern Song Dynasty. It became more popular in Ming and Qing dynasties and gradually evolved into an activity to commemorate Qu Yuan. In the past, there were dragons in the urban area every year. For the first time, the scene was quite spectacular. Later, there were old people's dragons, women's dragons and boys' dragons, and dragon boat rowing became a folk sport suitable for all ages. In the competition, there are generally 36 people in each dragon boat, and the people sitting on both sides of the dragon boat and paddling at the head and tail are relatively strong and experienced players. Besides rowing, there are two drummers, one who plays flags, one who knocks gongs, and two who drive from beginning to end. In some places, there is also a child image who specializes in clay sculpture or wood carving. In this way, there are always 43 people in a dragon boat.

Step 2 eat greasy zongzi

Garlic is pungent in taste and hot in nature, which can stimulate appetite, strengthen the spleen, promote digestion, eliminate food stagnation, dispel filth and cold, promote qi circulation, relieve depression, dispel plague, eliminate carbuncle and reduce swelling. On the Dragon Boat Festival, every housewife will get up early and cook the garlic and eggs prepared in advance until the garlic is soft and rotten for the family to eat for breakfast. According to folklore, eating garlic and eggs on an empty stomach for breakfast can avoid the "five poisons" and is good for health.

4. Hangpu and Hangai

On the Dragon Boat Festival, every household takes calamus and mugwort leaves to make calamus swords and mugwort flags and hangs them on the doors. Ming? Xu Fuzhuo, the story of picking the shuttle. Drinking realgar wine

Therefore, during the Dragon Boat Festival, there are stalls selling "silver and yellow incense heads" on the street. People put a little realgar in wine, or mix realgar at the end of calamus to avoid poison. In addition to drinking wine, it is also applied to children's ears, face, forehead and head. It is said that it can sterilize and prevent all kinds of pain. The typical method is to draw the word "Wang" on the child's forehead with realgar wine, which is used to drive away poison and tiger (the word "Wang" is like a tiger pattern) and eliminate evil spirits.

6. Caotoutang Bath

In the past, the Dragon Boat Festival had the custom of bathing with hundreds of drugs to kill viruses, commonly known as "Chongwu Caotou Decoction". This custom still existed in the sixties and seventies, and children were bathed and changed at noon. It is said that washing in the Dragon Boat Festival can disinfect and remove filth, so that people are not infected with dysentery. In the Ming Dynasty, "Talking about Qi Hai Suotan" also contained: "Fry a hundred herbs into soup, and the old and the young bathe together."

Step 7 burn incense

At noon on the day of Dragon Boat Festival, medicines such as Rhizoma Atractylodis, Radix Angelicae Dahuricae and Fructus Foeniculi are burned indoors to extinguish the poisonous gas, and lime is sprinkled in damp places and corners inside and outside the house, and then realgar is used to make white wine, which is sprayed everywhere to avoid poisonous snakes and scorpions. In Yueqing, it is called "spraying the ground". In the countryside or under the eaves, where there are many spiders, burning straw and smoking it are also detoxification and evil spirits. In Cangnan, every day at noon, Chinese medicines such as Kaempferia Kaempferia and Ganfen are smoked under the bed to drive away fleas and lice.

8. Dragon Boat Festival tea and heavy noon salt

At noon on the Dragon Boat Festival, a kind of Chinese medicine called "afternoon tea" is made from dried tangerine peel, Bupleurum root, agastache, Zhao Lian and so on. It is mild in nature and is an effective drug for treating summer heat. In Hongqiao, dozens of Chinese herbal medicines, such as sea salt, radix aucklandiae, radix stephaniae tetrandrae, ramulus Uncariae cum uncis, fructus aurantii immaturus, herba Pogostemonis, radix Puerariae, fructus crataegi, lignum Aquilariae Resinatum, parched malt, qu for removing blood stasis, fragrance, mulberry leaves, fragrant vines, perilla frutescens, and parched branches, are cooked. Stir-fried salt is called "heavy noon salt" and also called "Dragon Boat Festival tea" in Chaze. Old Chinese medicine shops in Hongqiao all produce "heavy noon salt" for sale, and Grandpa Jin Zhongyao in West Street sells it all the year round.

9. Wear a sachet egg bag

Sew small bags with colorful cloth ends, or wrap them with cardboard, and then carefully wrap them with colored silk thread. In the past, women showed their dexterity with extra care, which made the sachets diverse and exquisite. People put boiled eggs in net bags woven with leather silk and hang them on children's chests for playing and eating.

10. Tiger ornaments

Dragon Boat Festival also has the custom of wearing tiger-headed hats and shoes for children. The tiger's head hat is made of red and yellow colored cloth into hoop shape, the front of the hat is made into tiger's face shape with colored thread, and five kinds of poisonous insects are embroidered around it with colored thread: scorpion, centipede, poisonous snake, bee spider and toad, commonly known as "five poisons".
