Dafang Village, located on the plain between Wuyishan and Poyang Lake, has a history of more than 500 years.

The biggest surname in the village is Li. The origin of the village name is related to the Li family.

During the Xuande period of the Ming Dynasty, Li's parents died suddenly. Because the distribution of property was not arranged, the brothers at home quarreled.

Just then, a group of thieves stole all the property of the Li family while they were fighting for property.

Family discord brought such consequences that the Lee brothers regretted it.

Later, Li, one of the brothers, went out to do business and went through hardships, and Li Jiacai rallied.

The old houses in the village are in disrepair and it is difficult to live in, so many young people who work outside are reluctant to come back.

However, this practice was opposed by the owners. Old houses are all left by ancestors, and the pattern and wind water are very delicate and cannot be easily destroyed.

The two sides are deadlocked and the project cannot continue.

Later, under the care of the village director, the owners and designers sat together to exchange ideas. Finally, the two sides took a step back, and the Feng Shui wall was retained, but several windows were opened for ventilation and lighting.

Facing contradictions is not confrontation, but seeking reconciliation. In this way, the village is changing day by day in the communication and acceptance between villagers and designers.

In March 2020, the first phase restoration project of Dafang Village was completed. This ancient village not only retains the traditional pattern and the shape of ancient buildings, but also incorporates the characteristics of the times, attracting many tourists.

Nowadays, young people who used to go out to work hard have returned to their hometowns to live and start businesses, and many foreign artists have stayed for a long time because they slowly fell in love with China culture. This traditional and modern village is full of vitality.
