Traditional Culture of Hometown —— Yicheng Flower Drum

I liked flower drums very much when I was a child. You come and go, beating gongs and drums, both lively and happy.

Yicheng Flower Drum is a traditional dance art of Han nationality in Yicheng County, Shanxi Province. Playing flower drums in Yicheng County, Shanxi Province is also called teasing flower drums and making flower drums. The performance forms are rich and colorful, and the rhythm is very lively and magnificent. After 1000 years, it not only evolved into a unique folk dance, but also spread to Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia, Tianjin, Henan and other multilateral provinces.

On May 20th, 2006, Yicheng Flower Drum was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.

I have made some logo and paintings for Yicheng Flower Drum before, which are relatively green and still represent my love for the traditional culture of my hometown.

At first, the idea was not very mature, and the logo was poor, but each had its own meaning.

Later, after many sketches, a simple and generous logo was finally determined. The round drum is square, which is not only the excitement of hometown, but also the square of hometown people.

At that time, the painting was hasty, hand-painted on pure stock, and the brush was green. I used all kinds of auspicious patterns, birds singing and flowers smelling. I think the flower drum culture itself is a kind of auspiciousness, a celebration of festivals and a joy of harvest.

May our traditional culture be carried forward and traditional auspiciousness fill everyone's heart.
