Turtle nature reserve

Turtle Nature Reserve is located in Jiulian Aotan of Xiada Mountain at the junction of Daya Bay and Red Bay in Huidong County. 1985 was established with the approval of Guangdong provincial people's government, and 1992 was approved as a national nature reserve by the State Council. Now he is a member of the international biosphere protection network and one of the international important wetland reserves in China 2/KLOC-0. There are only 16 turtle nature reserves in the world, and China is the only one. Harbor turtle nature reserve is the only turtle nature reserve on the global continental shelf, and it is also the only nature reserve that is closest to human beings and realizes the harmony between man and nature. It can be called "a must in China". This protected area is surrounded by mountains on three sides and the sea on one side. The land area of the beach is 2 square kilometers, the ocean area is 16 square kilometers, and the coastal area is about 0. 1 square kilometers. The environment here is quiet, and the sunshine, air and water quality are all first-class standards. Nearshore is sandy seabed with some reefs. The water depth is 5-15m, the water temperature is about 280℃ in summer and autumn, and the salinity of seawater is above 30% all the year round. The beach slope is gentle and the sand is fine, which is beneficial for turtles to crawl, dig and lay eggs.

Tortoise is a second-class protected animal in China. It can crawl on land and swim in water, and it can swim very fast. Every breeding season, the staff of the reserve will wait on the beach all night, but they can't disturb the turtles because they are very alert. Once they find any movement on the beach, they will swim back to the sea. The staff's waiting must be patient and hidden. The mother turtle dug a hole in the beach. When the first egg is laid, no matter how you fiddle with it, she will insist on laying all the eggs, cover them with sand, and then slowly swim back to the sea. Turtle eggs hatch naturally. In high temperature season, larvae are mostly male, and in low temperature season, larvae are mostly female. When the turtles come out of their shells, the staff will take these cute little guys back to the base and take care of them carefully. It is not easy to take care of these little turtles. They live independently and are aggressive by nature. Soon after they came out of the shell, they would fight and bite each other, so the staff had to isolate them one by one. When they are strong, except for a few turtles who stay at the base for scientific research, the rest are released into the sea.

Turtle Nature Reserve is a base for studying and protecting turtles. Dear group members, the scenic spot we are going to now is called Paotou Mountain, also known as Daxing Mountain Fort. Because it looks like a pig pocket, it is also called the pig pocket city. Located in the south of Daxing Mountain, facing the sea in the east, west and south, the terrain is dangerous and it is a battleground for military strategists in past dynasties.

From the18th century, the Qing Empire gradually fell behind the historical process of the world. The imperialist powers have been sending troops to invade China, and pirate ships have been rampaging around and plundering, disrupting the southern seas and borders day and night. In order to resist foreign invasion, in the 50th year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (17 18), the right assistant minister of Guangdong and Guangxi local military affairs and the right deputy envoy of Duchayuan donated money to build a fort and a military fortress here.

The battery is made of granite with a circumference of 295 meters, an average height of 3.5 meters and a width of 255 meters. There is a northeast stone gate, which is1.95m high and1.63m wide. Looking down from the fortress hill, you can see the beautiful Shuangyue Bay. Shuangyue Bay consists of Daya Bay and two half-moon bays adjacent to Hongwan. The two sand ridges lead directly to Daxing Mountain, like a dragon going out to sea, like a double dragon playing with pearls, which is very majestic. Half Moon Bay near Daya Bay, breezy and full of waves, is beautiful. The Half Moon Bay on the Red Bay is rough and thin. Surrounded by the sea on three sides, it is picturesque. White beaches, dark green forest belts, blue sea, colorful reefs, charming islands and shuttling fishing boats constitute the scenery of Nanhai Fishing Port.
