What kind of music is Lantern Festival?

Lantern Festival is a guzheng music work created by Cao Dongfu, a famous Chinese guzheng player.

The guzheng solo "Making Lantern Festival" was composed by Mr. Cao Dongfu, the founder and grandmaster of Henan Caopai Zheng Art, on 1956. On the Lantern Festival that year, people in Nanyang, Henan Province celebrated the festival, and Mr. Cao Dongfu was in a noisy and lively atmosphere. His heart was full of joy and excitement, so he wrote this famous song "Lantern Festival".

This song combines the materials of local operas such as Henan Opera, Yuediao Opera and Quju Opera, simulates the sound of gongs with one finger, and imitates the suona performance. The melody is rough and unrestrained, which vividly shows the noisy and festive atmosphere of the Lantern Festival.
