Classical Juggling of Classical Juggling
It belongs to one kind of Chinese magic. Magic is known as illusion and juggling in ancient China, and Chinese magic has a history of about 4000 years. It was first performed as an art form in 108 B.C. Liu Che, Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty, held a show to entertain foreign envoys with the main performances of "Fish and Dragon Man Yean" (magic) and "Hundred Plays" (singing, dancing and acrobatics). After the "fish and dragon" became part of the court rituals; the Sui and Tang dynasties, the court magic and folk magic, prosperity and development; the Song Dynasty appeared "tile house hook bar" entertainment venues, wandering artists, and produced a famous magic groups (such as the Southern Song Dynasty) In the Song Dynasty, there were many entertainment centers, many wandering performers, and famous magic groups (such as the Southern Song Dynasty's "Cloud Machine Society"). At this time, the division of magic is also more and more refined, and formed the "techniques, handful of tricks, hidden aversion (hostage)" three major systems. Ancient color magic (drop live, hide the aversion category) that was created during this period of epoch-making magic, after the founding of new China by the Tianjin Acrobatic Troupe retained to this day.
Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty, magic was seldom seen in the court, but mainly existed in the folk, divided into "put down" (wandering artists for the performance of the stage) and "hall" (artists were called to perform in the homes of the rich and powerful) in two ways. In various places, there are fixed performance venues for jugglers, such as Fuzimiao Temple in Nanjing, Xuanmiao Guan in Suzhou, Tianqiao in Beijing, and the "Three Unregulated Areas" in Tianjin in modern times, and many famous jugglers have emerged. The inheritor of classical opera, Wang Dianying, was born in 1923 into a family of opera singers, with his father, Wang Zhenqing, and his sister, Wang Yubao, both famous opera singers. At the age of 16, he studied classical juggling under Guo Bichen's master, and his performances were funny and humorous; his hand-colored performances were skillful, brittle, fast and handsome, and his "making mouth" was like talking about a family's daily life, which was humorous, funny, and affectionate and natural. Mr. Ma Sanli, the master of comedy, has given high praise.
Unlike modern magic, which relies on props, classical Chinese opera, which makes a living by "putting down the land" in the folklore, emphasizes the actor's own techniques and skills, and uses "entrapment and hiding" as a means to "connect" (i.e., "to make the mouth") and "to make the mouth" (i.e., "to make the mouth"). The performances are characterized by the "linking" (i.e., changing while talking); and the performance space surrounded by the audience also requires that the tricks must be watched from all sides without losing the support, which is incomparable to the modern Western magic stage performances.
Classical juggling has now been selected as one of the recommended items for the third batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
