Are tanks armored vehicles and other heavy combat vehicles suitable for urban warfare or not?

Urban warfare definitely needs tanks. But certainly can not be completely only tanks, need tanks, infantry, artillery, engineering cooperation. But tanks are useful, at least much more useful than light vehicles.

You think light vehicles, like Humvees, are better at maneuvering than tanks in street fighting? Actually, Humvees and whatnot are not nearly as maneuverable as tanks.

The speed advantage of a Humvee is negligible in the face of the intensity of fire, speed of fire and range of modern guns. But a tank's armor is real. A single truck blocking an intersection can make a squad of Humvees a stationary target, but there's no way to stop a tank.

In fact, the main test of alley warfare is the ability of troops to work together. The U.S. had Humvees beaten like toys in Mogadishu, and Russia suffered heavy losses of tanks and armored vehicles in Grozny due to lack of coordination.
