"Eat carrots in winter and ginger in summer" - the corresponding health wisdom of heaven and man
"Eat radish in winter and ginger in summer without a doctor's prescription", a folk saying expresses the wisdom of health care more than 2,000 years ago.
Since ancient times are used today, many seasonal health care methods have been derived, which have penetrated into the details of daily life.
As the crystallization of the wisdom of my country's working people for thousands of years, changes in natural weather and phenology can be directly reflected in the twenty-four solar terms.
According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, human beings and nature are a whole in which nature and human beings correspond to each other, and the changes in human body and the occurrence of diseases are also closely connected with the twenty-four solar terms.
Solar terms are inseparable from the four seasons. The twenty-four solar terms are the changes in the position of the sun on the ecliptic (360 degrees) in a year by 24 equal parts. Each period is 15 degrees apart. Every 15 degrees the sun moves forward is a solar term.
There are twenty-four solar terms in the 12 months of a year, each of which lasts approximately 15 days.
Changes in the position of the sun will inevitably cause the evolution of the ground climate, so the "qi" of solar terms means weather and climate.
The twenty-four solar terms were derived from the ancient Chinese who looked up at the sky and looked down at the geography.
Many countries in the world have solar terms, but only China has a complete set of twenty-four solar terms.
The Taichu calendar is a symbol of the formation of the ancient Chinese calendar system. It was named after it was implemented in the first year of Taichu by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty.
Its characteristics are that the Yin month is the first month, the twenty-four solar terms are included in the calendar for the first time, the beginning of spring is the beginning of the twenty-four solar terms, and the four beginnings (beginning of spring, beginning of summer, beginning of autumn, and beginning of winter) are used as the beginning of each season.
Throughout the year, there are an average of six solar terms in each season.
It should be noted that the twenty-four solar terms are mainly in the astronomical sense, and the division of the four seasons in the meteorological sense is not uniform.
In meteorology, the first day when the daily average temperature is above 10 for 5 consecutive days is called spring.
Therefore, taking northern my country as an example, although the solar term has reached the beginning of spring, there is still the phenomenon of late spring cold. The beginning of spring experienced in life is not spring-like warmth, and one has to "cover it up" when dressing.
This is because the twenty-four solar terms specifically refer to the climate with four distinct seasons in the ancient middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River and parts of the Yangtze River Basin.
However, our country has a vast territory and great regional differences between the north and the south, so its climate cannot always be consistent with that of the Yellow River Basin.
In November 2016, the twenty-four solar terms declared by China were included in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. They not only guide agricultural production, but also play an important role in guiding people's daily health care.
One of the functions of solar terms is to adjust the relationship between man and nature. Solar terms reflect the ancients' understanding of the changing patterns of seasons, climate, phenology, etc. throughout the year.
Season has the meaning of season.
The climate characteristics of solar terms should conform to the seasonal climate characteristics to which they belong, namely warm spring, hot summer, cool autumn, and cold winter.
For example, solar terms such as minor heat and severe heat in summer and minor cold and severe cold in winter clearly reflect the climate characteristics of the seasons.
From the perspective of precipitation, solar terms such as rain and grain rain in spring, white dew, cold dew, and frost in autumn also clearly reflect the precipitation characteristics of the seasons in which the solar terms are located.
The division of solar terms is closely related to the sun, and the influence of the sun on the natural world is self-evident. Therefore, changes in solar terms will inevitably lead to changes in the phenology of nature. For example, the meaning of the Waking of Insects is the day when the sky wakes up hibernating animals by thundering.
"Guanzi·Situation Interpretation" believes: "In spring, Yang Qi begins to rise, so all things grow. In summer, Yang Qi begins to rise, so all things grow. In Autumn, Yin Qi begins to decline, so everything recedes. In winter, Yin Qi begins to decline, so all things grow.
All things are stored. Therefore, growth in spring and summer, and collection in autumn and winter are the seasons of the four seasons. "As one of the living things in nature, human beings' daily life and diet are inevitably affected by the four seasons. For example, people tend to sleep more in winter.
Falling asleep earlier, but in summer, sleep is often less than in winter, and people often go to bed late and get up early. This is a human biological characteristic.
Solar terms have natural attributes, and their most basic function is to adjust the relationship between humans and nature. Through the establishment of the four-season solar terms, people can produce and live in compliance with the natural order.
"The correspondence between heaven and man" is the core view of traditional Chinese medicine's health care. Chapter 25 of the Tao Te Ching expresses the relationship between man and nature: "Therefore, the Tao is great, the sky is great, the earth is great, and the king is also great. There are four majors in the domain, and the king is one of them.
"Man follows the earth, the earth follows the heaven, the heaven follows the Tao, and the Tao follows the nature." One of its meanings is that heaven and man should be in harmony, and man and nature should be harmonious and unified.
"The correspondence between nature and man" is also the core concept of traditional Chinese medicine in health preservation.
The Classic of Traditional Chinese Medicine "Huangdi Neijing" points out: "Human beings are born from the energy of heaven and earth, and are formed by the law of the four seasons."
time, affected by the changes in the four seasons of nature.
Complying with the changes in seasonal solar terms in nature will ensure good health. Otherwise, "the five Tibetans may be sick at their own time, and if they are not at the right time, they will be affected by it." This shows the influence of seasonal solar terms on human pathology.
Wind, cold, heat, dampness, dryness, and fire are the six normal natural climates, called the six qi.
The changes in the four seasons and solar terms produce the six qi, and the changes in the six qi are the conditions for the growth of all things and are harmless to the normal human body.
The transition of solar terms is out of order, and the excess or deficiency of the six qi will cause the six qi to evolve into a pathogenic factor and become the evil of the six evils, causing adverse effects on human health.
The ancient astronomical work "Kaiyuan Zhanjing" records diseases caused by abnormal solar terms: "The beginning of spring does not arrive when it is due, and the army rises, the wheat fails, and malaria spreads; when it does not arrive when it is due, there are many diseases caused by dryness.
