Introduction of Hui traditional festivals
2. Eid al-Adha: Arabic transliteration of Eid al-Adha, meaning "sacrifice" and "dedication", so it is also called "Eid al-Adha" and "filial piety festival". Hui people in most areas are called "Little Eid al-Fitr", which is one of the three major festivals in Islam and is usually held 70 days after Eid al-Fitr.
3. Holy Day: Holy Day is the anniversary of the birth and death of the Prophet Muhammad of Islam. Because Muhammad's birth and death happened on March 12 of the Islamic calendar, Hui people generally call it "Shengji". On the day of the festival, Muslims first go to the mosque to recite scriptures, praise the saints and tell the life story of Muhammad. Afterwards, Muslims volunteered to donate grain, oil, meat and money, and hired several people to be responsible for grinding flour, shopping, frying oil, cook the meat and cooking. All chores are done voluntarily by the Hui people. Hui people regard voluntary labor on holy day as doing good. So it is a great pleasure to compete with each other.
