What is the ideological content of Water Margin?

The central idea of Water Margin is:

It exposed the darkness of feudal society and the evil of the ruling class, wrote the historical truth that "officials forced the people to rebel" and "chaos was from top to bottom", revealed that the social root of peasant uprising was cruel feudal oppression and exploitation, and affirmed and praised the justice of peasant revolutionary struggle.

The Water Margin is one of China's four classical novels. This paper describes the story of 108 hero headed by Song Jiang who accepted the appeal after Juyi in Liangshan Uprising at the end of the Northern Song Dynasty.

The biggest feature of Water Margin is that its layout and structural design are all people-centered. The characters depicted in Water Margin are not one or two single images, but group images, which involve the characterization of all walks of life, especially the meticulous portrayal of Liangshan 108 heroes in Shui Bo.
