Streets in Hefei Old Town

I came to Hefei on a hot summer day because of my work. Three years of dazzling, from unfamiliar to familiar. Among the customs of this city, what impressed me most was the streets of the old city. It's not that the streets here are different, it's just that we have more contact and love over time.

The place where I work and live on weekdays is in the industrial zone, located in the northeast corner of Hefei, far away from downtown and crowds, with no breath of life. I hate this living environment and always choose a short escape. So I often ride my beloved bike through the streets, wandering in the noisy streets, enjoying the quiet tree-lined paths and wandering on the flat asphalt road.

I have always felt that the best place in Hefei is the old city full of fireworks. This ancient small city is surrounded by an open circular park. The park is covered with evergreen trees, and outside the park is a moat more than ten meters wide. There is a narrow path paved with marble between the flowers and trees in the garden. If you walk in the early morning, the sunlight through the dense forest hits the leaves with dewdrops, and you can see colorful leaves swaying in the breeze.

When it comes to the park around the city, we can't help but mention the park road around the city. This is a two-way and one-way asphalt road, with tranquility in the noise and dense forests in the park, which is a real avenue. There is a two-meter-wide pedestrian walkway by the roadside, which is well repaired and suitable for walking. Every summer night, there are always cool people walking slowly on the path. In dim light, if you press the camera shutter at this time, the photos will show the style of old photos of the Republic of China.

I like cycling around Park Road. Although this road is a little narrow and can only be driven by the outside of the motorway, it is in good condition and friendly to road vehicles and cyclists. If you are lucky, there will be a cool breeze passing through the Woods, wrapped in the natural fragrance of vegetation, blowing gently and sucking into your heart, and a great sense of comfort arises spontaneously.

There is a prosperous main road in the east-west direction of the old city, called Changjiang Road. It is said that this is the first road built in Hefei, and I have no textual research. However, the old provincial government is on this road, and the most upscale shopping malls not far away are also on this road. I don't think it is fake. This road has been under repair since I first saw it, and it is still under repair now, and it has never stopped. In the middle of this year, the pavement riddled with subway construction was finally resurfaced with asphalt and stones, and the non-motor vehicle lanes and sidewalks on both sides were also repaired. Changjiang Road is brand new, but the iron gate of the abandoned government building is closed, and the soldiers who stood guard here the year before last are gone.

On the south side parallel to Changjiang Road, there is a road called Anqing Road, which is named after my hometown. The Chenghuang Temple in Hefei is on this road. This section of the Chenghuang Temple is always congested. The original two-way two-lane road was marked with parking spaces on both sides, so it became two-way and one-way. Chenghuang Temple and its surrounding buildings are all Huizhou style, simple and elegant. There is an old-fashioned grocery store on the west side of the south entrance, where cakes and noodles are delicious and affordable. The adjacent facade room is a very popular milk tea shop in Hefei, and the decoration style is simple and generous Nordic style. Order a noodle and have a cup of refreshing milk tea, and all the worldly troubles will be forgotten. Sitting in front of the grocery store is convenient for taking care of bicycles, so my cyclist and I often use this as a place to meet.

Besides cycling, talk about the pedestrian street. If you like shopping, the Huaihe Road Pedestrian Street in the center of the old city is a good choice. As far as shopping and eating are concerned, this pedestrian street is no different from pedestrian streets all over the country, so I won't talk about it here. The difference is that in the center of this north-south street, there is a magnificent and solemn mansion-Li Hongzhang's former residence. I didn't go in to visit, I just watched outside. The compact black brick black tiles and the finely carved glass of the gatehouse look like a deep house compound. Only the stone lions on both sides of the door were polished and lost their dignity.

The street in front of the south entrance of the pedestrian street may be the slowest street in the old city. Probably because there are no traffic lights installed, pedestrians entering the pedestrian street never give way. Fortunately, our cycling party is not afraid of crowding, and we can always meet each other in a sea of people and arrive at a tea shop that we often go to. Since we bought the best nipple cover so far in this shop, it has become another meeting place for us to ride horses. The owner of the store asked us if we could lose weight by cycling, so we joked, "We don't lose weight by cycling because we drank too much milk tea at your house."

There are several impressive streets in the old city, so don't go there often. In fact, what I want to talk about is the country roads in the west and south counties of Hefei, especially in spring and autumn. People are surrounded by trees and crops that grow wantonly, and the mighty and full green is fascinating.
